Trip Overview

Hidden Haa & the Sacred
Nub Tshonapata Lake Trek

For guests who want Bhutan's rarest landscapes — this is the one. The Nub Tshonapata trek moves through Haa's high ridges and remote yak-herder country to a sacred turquoise lake at 4,180 m, with star-filled camp nights and sweeping Himalayan panoramas.

You cross old trade routes once used between Haa and Tibet, climb to high passes above 4,300 m, and spend a full day acclimatising beside the lake — an experience that feels genuinely removed from the modern world. You hike light with a daypack while your team handles camp, meals, and all logistics.

Ideal for fit, adventure-minded travellers who want a real trek — couples or friends wanting a private luxury expedition feel, with a comfortable heritage finish in Paro.

↑ 1,100 m · ~14 km · 5–6 hrs
Your first trekking day is the shift from valley life into high country. The climb is steady — time to find your rhythm and settle into the trek routine. Expect forest paths giving way to open ridge terrain as you gain altitude.

Arrive in Womji and ease into camp life: warm tea, a cooked meal, and a quiet sunset as the air turns crisp.
