Ask Us DirectlyYes. All foreign travellers except nationals from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives require a visa to enter Bhutan. We handle the entire visa application for you as part of your booking. You simply provide the necessary documents and we take care of the rest.
The SDF is a daily fee charged by the Bhutanese government to all international tourists. Currently USD 100 per person per night for most nationalities, and INR 1,200 per day for Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals.
It funds Bhutan's free healthcare, education, and environmental conservation programs. We include SDF calculations transparently in every quotation.
We recommend starting the visa process at least 3 to 4 weeks before your travel date. During peak seasons (March to May and September to November) processing takes longer. We initiate the application as soon as your deposit is confirmed.
Yes. Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals do not require a visa but must carry a valid passport or government-issued photo ID. Indian nationals can use their Voter ID card. A permit is still required and we arrange this before your arrival.
March to May and September to November are the most popular seasons for clear mountain views, pleasant temperatures, and major festivals like Paro Tshechu and Thimphu Tshechu.
However, we offer enriching experiences year-round. Monsoon brings lush valleys and fewer crowds. Winter is cold but crisp and remarkably peaceful. We guide you to the best timing based on what you want to experience.
We recommend a minimum of 6 to 7 nights to experience Bhutan without rushing. For a deeper journey through multiple valleys, hikes, and festivals, 10 to 14 nights gives you the space to breathe and truly absorb the country.
We never encourage rushed itineraries. Bhutan rewards slowness.
Absolutely. Every journey with us is built from scratch. From the length of your stay to the pace, focus, and level of luxury, we tailor everything to what you actually want. Whether you seek deep spiritual immersion, adventure trekking, cultural exploration, or simply rest, we shape the journey around that intention.
Bhutan ranges from gentle valley walks to high-altitude treks above 4,000 metres. The iconic Tiger's Nest hike is a 2 to 3 hour moderate climb and we can arrange a horse for those who prefer not to walk uphill.
We ask about your fitness level during planning and design the itinerary accordingly. There is a version of Bhutan for every body.
Every package includes accommodation, private transportation, all meals, a certified Bhutanese guide, monument entry fees, and full visa and permit arrangements. Optional additions include hot stone baths, yoga sessions, private monastery blessings, and festival access.
For international travellers, budget approximately USD 250 to 500 per person per night including SDF, accommodation, meals, guide, and transport. For Indian nationals the SDF is lower, making the overall cost more accessible.
We send a fully transparent, itemised quotation with every enquiry. No hidden fees.
We take a 30% deposit to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days before departure. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior are refundable minus a processing fee. We always try to rebook and reschedule before applying cancellation terms.
We offer a range from cozy Bhutanese homestays to eco-lodges and boutique retreats. Every property is locally owned, culturally authentic, and aligned with our values of sustainability and genuine comfort. We do not place guests in generic chain hotels unless specifically requested.
Yes. Bhutan is consistently ranked among the safest travel destinations in the world. Crime rates are extremely low and the culture is deeply respectful. Our local guides ensure your journey is secure, meaningful, and stress-free whether you travel solo, with friends, or with family.
The official currency is the Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN), pegged 1:1 to the Indian Rupee. Indian Rupees are widely accepted. Credit cards work at larger hotels and restaurants, but cash is essential in rural areas and markets. We advise bringing sufficient cash for small purchases and tips.
Paro sits at 2,200 metres and most of Bhutan ranges between 1,500 and 4,000 metres. Mild symptoms like headaches or fatigue are possible in the first 24 to 48 hours. We recommend arriving a day early, staying well hydrated, and avoiding alcohol on your first night. Our guides are trained to monitor your wellbeing and will adjust the pace if needed.
4G coverage is available in most towns and tourist areas. Remote valleys and trekking routes have limited signal, which many guests actually cherish. You can purchase a local SIM at Paro Airport on arrival. Most hotels offer Wi-Fi.
When visiting dzongs, monasteries, and temples you must cover your shoulders and knees. Shoes must be removed before entering sacred spaces. Photography inside temples is generally not permitted without express permission.
We provide a full cultural etiquette briefing before your arrival so nothing comes as a surprise.
Layers are essential regardless of season. Key items: comfortable walking shoes with good grip, modest clothing for temple visits, a light rain jacket, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. We send a detailed packing list tailored to your specific itinerary and travel dates.
The national dish is Ema Datshi, a spicy stew of chillies and cheese central to almost every meal. Rice, buckwheat, mushrooms, and river fish are staples. Vegetarian options are plentiful. If you have dietary restrictions, we communicate these to every property in advance.
We listen first. To what you need, what you are seeking, and how you want to feel. Some come to Bhutan for peace, some for answers, some just to breathe. We shape each journey around that.
Saidpiece Travels is not about ticking off tourist spots. It is about slow moments, real people, and experiences that actually stay with you. Honesty, comfort, connection, and meaning. Your time in Bhutan should feel like it truly belonged to you.
We specialise in private and small-group journeys (2 to 12 people) where every detail is personalised. We occasionally offer small curated group departures for festivals like Paro Tshechu, announced in advance. We also love building bespoke trips for larger groups of friends, families, or colleagues.
